Carlisle City Council manages and maintains:

  • 199.5 hectares of Parks and Playgrounds.
  • 108.5 hectares of Nature Reserves.
  • 55.3 hectares of grass verges.
  • 28 Football pitches.
  • 66 different parks, children's play areas and nature reserves in and around the City.
  • Carlisle, Upperby and Stanwix Cemeteries.
  • Carlisle Cathedral and St Cuthberts Church grounds.

In 2008 we received six Green Flag Awards for Bitts Park, Hammonds Pond, Tullie House Gardens, Carlisle Cemetery, St Michael's Churchyard Stanwix, and Kingmoor Nature Reserves.

Carlisle City Council were proud to receive a 'Silver' award for the 2008 Cumbria in Bloom.
