Clinical waste disposal

Clinical waste includes;

• Human or animal body parts
• Blood or other human and animal fluids
• Excretion
• Medical items - swabs, bandages and any other waste arising from medical or veterinary use

A clinical waste collection is offered free of charge on a weekly basis every Monday. The Council does not collect sharps as part of this collection service.

Residents who require a clinical waste collection need to contact their GP who will supply them with sacks and contact us to arrange the collection.
