Current Role:
My current role as MD of Carlisle United FC is the day to day running of the business from sales/marketing to budget preparation and control and overseeing the costs and facilities requirements of the playing side. In addition, I am a fan of 50 years plus so I get to indulge my passions from within my job.
Career Highlights:
Significant highlights in my previous career was to be appointed to the position of Purchasing and Logistics Director of Pirelli Tyres UK and to introduce the first 24-hour order/delivery service in the tyre industry. During my next appointment as Industrial Director I secured investment of 85 million Euros into UK manufacturing between 1998/2005 at a time when all investments were going to the Far East and China.
My reasons for wanting to join the Board of Carlisle Renaissance was because as joint chair of the Economic and Enterprise Group which drew up the economic plan for Carlisle, I now want to see that plan carried out.
As MD of the football club, I am in contact with business groups and individuals all of whom focus on the City and I can offer a sounding board, independent advice and the drive to enable our Renaissance programme to move to completion.
